Uses
Household
  • Whole plant - Grow this "physician" plant near a failing tree to revive it. Infuse and spray on seedling to prevent "damping off" and on compost to activate decomposition.
  • Flower - Boil for a strong yellow-brown dye.
  • Cosmetic
  • Flower - Infuse as a facial steam and as a hand soak to soften and whiten skin. Make an eye bath or tea bag compress to reduce inflammation and eliminate fatigue shadows. Add infusion for a reviving bath. Boil flowers for 20 minutes and use regularly to lighten and condition fair hair.
  • Aromatic
  • Flower and leaf - Use in potpourri and herb pillows.
  • Medicinal
  • Flower - Infuse flowers as a tea for a general tonic and sedative. Apply a compress to treat wounds and eczema. Use in a bath to relieve sun or wind burned skin.
